ABOUT THE SONG

The song "Happy Birthday to You" is a universally recognized tune used to celebrate birthdays around the world. Its origins can be traced back to the late 19th century when two sisters, Mildred J. Hill and Patty Smith Hill, composed a song titled "Good Morning to All" for kindergarten children. The melody of this song eventually evolved into what we now know as "Happy Birthday to You." Interestingly, until recently, the song was under copyright protection, making it one of the most valuable songs in the world. Many restaurants and establishments created alternative birthday songs to avoid paying royalties. In 2016, a federal court ruled that the song's copyright was invalid, allowing the song to enter the public domain. Today, "Happy Birthday" remains a staple in birthday celebrations worldwide, bringing joy to people of all ages.
