ABOUT THE SONG

"Fly Me to the Moon," originally titled "In Other Words," was written in 1954 by Bart Howard, inspired by the space race and the possibility of humans reaching the moon. The song gained popularity when Frank Sinatra included it in his album "It Might as Well Be Swing" in 1964. Notably, it was the first music ever heard on the moon, when astronaut Buzz Aldrin played a rendition of it on a cassette during the Apollo 11 lunar mission in 1969. Over the years, the song has been covered by numerous artists, solidifying its place as a timeless classic in the realm of jazz and popular music.
